MacDowells Brew Kitchen on tap 11/17/15. Nice appearance but the roasted aroma and especially the flavor wa sa bit too burnt for my liking. Overall, just average. I probably wouln't go back to this one.

Black beer with a dark brown head that dissipates quickly.
Smell and taste are great. Moderate oat notes. Roasted malt notes that give off a slight sweet chocolate flavor. Lightish Moderate bitter resin hop note that mixes well withe roasted bitterness. Light hoppy and oat aftertaste.
Smooth body . Heavy body biting carbonation. Good. A little creaminess that makes the feel better than most other stouts.
Overall a better than average imperial stout. Worth getting and certainly different enough from other stouts.
