Clear amber with nice off-white head, great retention, splotchy lace
Smells like sweet, toasted bread with a bit of roasted green chili
Honeyed toast, a bit of roasted green chili, heat builds as it lingers, but is never overpowering (to me anyways, I eat a lot of spicy food)
Medium bodied and appropriately carbonated
This beer does a great job of hitting the base style on the head and adding another dimension with the chile

On tap at brewery:
Nice clear amber body with medium ring and no lacing.
Nose is weird, with the beer seeming a bit honey sweet and the chile providing a sweet fruity pepper aroma. The latter is a bit stronger and includes a little sign of the spice. Overall it leads to an impression of a sweeter, boozier beer.
Taste is more as expected with a light toasted malt opening that is not too sweet at all. The pepper flesh comes next, more sweet, leaning red pepper than vegetal green. The spice heat is at a nice level to be, it packs a decent little punch.
The heat builds a bit and at least at this point, I’d say don’t try this unless you like a spice level that will burn a little.
