pour into tulip glass from tap at world of beer. Two finger head disappeared to 1/2 finger relatively quickly. Not much nose to speak of. Light chocolate, malty flavor, with classic bock taste pulling through towards the end. 8.3 abv hidden very well. Good beer.

On tap at Good Dog Houston.
A: Pours a dark nearly opaque ruby red color. A two finger beige head forms with good retention and plenty of lace.
S: Toasted malts, caramel sweetness. Some baked bread. Fairly simple, but everything is well balanced. Warm toasted malts are always good IMO.
T: Again, this is pretty simple, and certainly not as assertive as good German version. That said, toasted malts, caramel sweetness, and biscuit. Not overly sweet or sugary, which is a downfall of many American versions.
M/D: A medium to full body. Well carbonated and perfectly smooth. Warming and filling, like a good malty beer should be. Very moreish.
If not the perfect Doppelbock, it is still very tasty. It hits all the right notes, but more important, this is really enjoyable. Another all all around solid offering from B-52.
