March 2014: Sample from bottle at RBNAG 2014, Halden, Grand Tasting. Black colour, beige head. Roasty aroma, hints of smoke. Roasty and smokey flavour, a slight acidity.

a: dark black color with a matte-like quality. head is tan and pours thin, disappearing quickly

s: smoked malts, toasted malts, milk chocolate, wood, and a hint of bitternes (probably from the toasted malts)

t: similar to the nose. toasted malts, milk chocolate, a small bitters from the toasted malts, and a nice campfire smoke

m: lighter side of medium. carbonation is mid-level and in line with the style

o: enjoyable beer! smoke is light but present. toasted malts are nice and work well with the smoke. worth a try if you see it

Really dark, almost black pour with mocha head. Aroma has dark, roasted malts and also some smoked meat. Taste follows with same notes, a bit on the sweet side and not too heavy on the smoke. Body is quite heavy and well carbonated. Overall it's balanced and easy to drink smoked porter.
