Ignitor is a traditional German Maibock, that features decoction mashing giving this lager an underlying malt complexity as well as a faint caramel sweetness. A German noble hop presence along with a subtle alcohol warmth, round this beer out to be a pleasant bock.

I'm trying a 5oz taster of this beer off the tapper at the brewery. It poured a clear copper with white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had hints of sweet malt and grain. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with caramel malt base and grain presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Pours a rich brown with a hint of burgundy to it. Transparency is diluted by a little haze, but is still clear enough to see the fingers on the opposite side of the glass. Head is a couple fingers of tan foam.

Aroma is malt lead, with notes of bread and caramel. The auxiliary notes are a mix of fig and toffee and zesty, grassy hops. A little clove and yeast spiciness shows up as the beer warms. As this beer is served out of the fridge, it leans into sweet, but smooths out to a better round completeness as it warms. Nose is more sweet than the taste.

Flavor profile is caramel, toffee, fig, and light raisins with zesty, grassy, and spicy hops behind. Bready malts are present throughout in the background. It has a little hop stickiness at the finish, particularly as the beer warms, which is a notable contrast to when the beer was cold. Cold it leaned into sweetness big time, and felt hollow at the finish. As it warms, it becomes a more complete picture, lifting the fog from the edges of the lens.

Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a very mild texture, which has a boiled, flat, slightly silty texture.

Overall, it starts to open up real well as it warms. It has lovely contrast of caramel and bread vs. zesty, grassy hops. It's refreshing, with some hearty notes to aid in its depth.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 32oz crowler. Canned 03/06/22, consumed / reviewed 03/19/22. ABV of 7.5%.

Dark amber color. Light nose of caramel and malt. Very round flavor of caramel, pear, and malty spice. Lingering pleasant finish. Very well done, 7.2% abv. One of Braxton's best.

Aroma is fairly floral, lightly caramelly, a touch estery, boozy.

Flavor is fairly estery, as well, with yeast and amber malt fruitiness leading to notes of bubblegum and a toasted, overly bitter finish. Feels pretty hot.

Thoroughly enjoyed from the growler via Jungle Jim's in a snifter. This VERY nice maibock pours a bright, clear, reddish amber with a quickly subsiding head of white foam that forms a thick ring, thin layer, and light lacing. Nose of light bread, crackers, sweet caramel malts, toasted grains. Flavors exceed the nose with caramel malts on the front and sides, subtle notes of subtle fruity peaches and light breaded notes to the middle, and toasted grains and floral hop notes on the rear with a warming alcohol note on the back. Nice mouth feel, sweet, lightly slick, and moderately clean with a medium mouth feel. An excellent brew from a very good newer brewery in the tri-state area. Well done!

Cheers
