With a percentage of the proceeds of each pint sold going to local Covington charity, It's the civic duty of all Braxton beer drinkers to drink an ale of their Trophy collection. This rendition celebrates the Idaho 7 hop in all its herbal, tropical and spruce notes.
Bright amber and copper in color, the beer's light haze basques the senses in caramel, papaya, passionfruit, and earl grey teas ahead of taste that's toasted with caramelized grains for a granola and graham cracker dryness and softness on the early palate.
Relaxing malt sweetness keeps the session balanced with caramel and light honey while the prized Idaho 7 hops tease the tastebuds with pineapple, mango, apricot and exotic papaya with tangy passionfruit nuances. As the flavors dive deep into finish, the beer's herbal taste is somewhat British in nature but also Germanic in spice. But alas, its the piney hop character that makes its bitterness uniquely American.
Medium bodied but trending dry, crisp and refreshing, the unique hop flavors are tangy, herbal and sprucy; at times registering on the palate like the thirst quenching gin & tonic cocktails. Ideally suited for all American cuisine, the beer's subtle savory flavor and long peppery bitterness begs for pizza in complement.
