To commemorate all things entrepreneural about the greater Cincinnati region, the Braxton team devises a blue collar beer that's simply all American.
StartUpCincy is a straight forward American pale ale with a bright golden, light amber appearance. Nearly bright in clarity, the beer's light hover of sea foam rounds into an aromatic display of grapefruit and lemon with pepper and herbal grasses in its hop profile. Caramel and honey are light and signal a toasted malt sweetness that's somewhat graham cracker-like.
As the ale washes the middle palate, its bright taste is less perfumy and more dry. The light and arid taste of malt trends nutty and toasty. The delicate balance of hops shows a citrusy taste of under-ripened orange, grapefruit and lemon peel. Herbal with fresh grassiness, parsley and sassafras ahead of spicy bitterness that's bold but lager-like.
Dry, crisp and clean, a final malt taste of peanut skins and light granola are outweighed by the hop bitterness that develops into a medium-long aftertaste of grass, herb and citrus peel. Its an ideal, all occasion beer that's built perfectly for taproom chats, pizza and relaxation.
