Milkshake IPAs are a sweeter, fruitier version of our hazy New England IPAs, and this release is no exception. Using high protein malts and a heavy dry hop of Citra hops, we get the full bodied and hazy IPA. After a refermentation on tangerine puree, this beer is conditioned on vanilla beans to round out this creamsicle, milkshake profile.

Milkshake IPA brewed with lactose, tangerine puree, and vanilla beans. Poured from a can into a Listermann's pub glass. The pour is light orange in color and extremely hazy (looks like OJ). It sports a rather thin head with poor retention. Lots of tangerine on the nose as well as some vanilla and lemon. A little pineapple as well.
Medium-light body with a firm feel. Lots of tropical fruit flavors up front, highlighted by the tangerine, but there is some lemon and pineapple in there too. The vanilla joins in around mid-palate and adds a nice creamy sweetness, but the fruit carries through. It reminds me of a creamsicle. Everything makes it to the finish and you have lingering flavors of tangerine and vanilla.
Excellent milkshake IPA. When I heard about this one being release, I couldn't wait to drive over the Braxton Labs to pick some up. I went to the dentist today, so drinking this beer is actually kind of painful - but I don't care. I simply couldn't wait another day to try it.
