500 ml bottle, 2022 vintage, 16.4% ABV printed on the label. Big thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a snifter, the beer pours a murky dark brown color with about a half inch tan head that didn't stick around for too long. Not much lacing, either. I like the aroma a lot, the brew smells like raisins, port, vanilla, oak and brown sugar. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some cherry, bourbon and earthy flavors. Definitely a bit boozy too but not in a bad way. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and a bit syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good overall brew, worth trying if you get the chance!

From the 500 ml bottle in a snifter via the brewery 2022 vintage 16.4 ABV.

This monster pours a muddled blackish brown with a moderate head of khaki foam that
settles to a thin ring with some nice legs. Nose of port, oak, bourbon, vanilla, toffee, cherry,
and brown sugars. Flavors find their mark with toffee, vinous port / brandy, oak, bourbon,
vanilla, brown sugars, and dark berry notes amongst dates and figs and nice tobacco notes.
Mouth feel is medium, smooth as silk, very warming, rich as sin, and finishing sweet without
being overly cloying with light carbonation.

Of note, hop notes lightly shine with warmth.

Overall, a breathtaking old ale from a stellar brewery!

Cheers

Very limited release at Braxton Barrel House in Ft. Mitchell only. 17.5%, IBU 15. Nose of cherry cordials and green tobacco. Huge palette of cherry syrup and Connecticut leaf wrapper. Lingering long finish over 30 seconds. Rare to find this much nose on any beer. Perhaps Braxton's best effort.
