This American brown ale's grist bill starts us off with a base layer of milk chocolate, biscuit, and caramel. The boil brings American and noble hops to balance with light bitterness, as well as some brown sugar for a robust toffee flavor. Several days of conditioning on shredded raw coconut brings a tropical sweetness to really round out a delicious, easy drinking, dark beer.

Slightly thin body with about average carbonation.
Aroma is brown sugar, fresh raw coconut, roasted malt and some espresso.
Taste is weaker than aroma with brown sugar and raw coconut showing up. Roasted malt and a feint root beer taste.
Overall its interesting, well made and woth a try

A: The beer is very dark brown when viewed from afar; when held up to the light it is hazy dark brownish red in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that quickly died down, leaving a thin patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of nutty malts and brown sugar are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and mostly has flavors of brown sugar, which also contribute a slight amount of sweetness. No hop flavors are detectable, but there is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The name of this beer is somewhat deceptive because I didn't really get any coconut in the smell or taste.
Serving type: can

Ordered from Tavour, a pint can, 5.5ABV, chilled and poured into an imperial pint glass.
Look: dark brown, light tan head with thick bubbles that went away entirely. Left no lacing as we drank
Smell: roasted malt, trace of bitter, some sweetness, but no coconut and no discernible brown sugar as described on the can
Taste: roasted barley, trace sweetness, a little bitter on the back palate. No coconut we could get and no brown sugar. Really just a toasty brown ale for us
Feel: pretty light feel, nice tickle of carbonation that hangs while it warmed in the glass
We ordered this because it is from Braxton Labs and we have had a couple of their small batch dark stuff that was pretty good. This one was a “meh” beer. It was a crisp and toasty brown that had no discernible coconut or brown sugar. If you want a crisp brown go for it... if you want creative coconut sugar goodness, skip this one.
Cheers everyone!
