We got this one from Tavour. Chilled the beer and poured into an hurricane.
Look: dark orange (with a brownish hue), hard poured with a big 2 finger light tan head that dissipated to nothing leaving no lacing.
Smell: light pineapple, some light orange notes, earthy notes that might be a little nutty
Taste: sour on the front (but not super sour), followed by notes of pineapple, cara cara orange (not like orange juice, but fresh and earthy fruit juice), in the nose we get sweetness, earthy nutty notes that die away quickly leaving a clean finish
Feel: light to medium feel with a very light tickle of carbonation. The after feel is interesting, almost lingering fruit and earthy nuttiness that linger a while.
Overall this is a light sour beer. Braxton produces some pretty funky stuff and this has zero funk, but an interesting combination of pineapple, orange and earthy notes that aren’t really almond. We could have skipped the “almond” and this would had been a great beer. As far as mai-tai? Not really, but still a tasty fruited sour.
Cheers everyone!
