From the growler via the brewery in a snifter. This monster pours a dark coal black
with brown highlights and a nice head of khaki foam that settles to a thick ring,
thin swirling layer, and shows faint lacing...give it a swirl and some mighty fine
legs! Nose of coffee, oak, bourbon, vanilla, char, dark cocoa, roasted goodness,
and dark fruit touches. Flavors follow nicely with dark cocoa, oak, vanilla, bourbon,
dark fruits of blackberry and raspberry, mellow coffee, faint nutty malts, char, and
brulee. Very nice mouth feel for such a brute---full body, light carbonation, rich, warming,
smooth, coating, and finishing with a nicely presented bitter malt and bourbon note.
Overall----WOW......this brewery is on it's way to becoming the Kentucky version of
Jackie O's! Keep up the great work!
Cheers
