Every year Braxton Builders’ choose a fantastic Dark Charge variant for us to bring to life. This year we are taking our love for vanilla to a whole new level. After aging for 13 months on Oak, this barrel-aged Imperial stout spent a week conditioning on a blend of three unique types of vanilla beans from around the world to add a layered sweetness and flavors of classic creamy vanilla from Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla beans, a cherry and floral addition from Tahitian vanilla beans, and an earthy and woody note from Indonesian vanilla beans.

22 ounce bottle, 2022 vintage, bottle #0198/1400. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stayed around for a little while. Small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, name of the beer checks out as the vanilla stands out! There's also bourbon, roasted malt and earthiness in the aroma. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some oak, coffee, dark bread and burnt/charred malt flavors noticeable too. As with the aroma, I think the vanilla stands out but with that being said it doesn't overpower everything else. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, certainly worth trying if you come across some!
