Mackinac Island Fudge - This variant of Dark Charge spent time conditioning on whole bean Mackinac Fudge coffee from Coffee Emporium. Bold flavors of roasted coffee, caramel, and sweet chocolate bolster the familiar caramel and cocoa flavors found in Dark Charge after its 12-month barrel aging period.

22 ounce orange wax capped bottle, 2022 vintage, bottle #264/900. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch or so frothy tan head that stuck around for a little while. Good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like coffee, fudge, burnt/charred malt, vanilla and caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some bourbon, dark bread and oaky flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good coffee imperial stout, can't wait to try the other 2 Roaster's Reserve brews! Definitely worth trying if you get the chance.
