This coffee-forward variant of Dark Charge sees an addition of coffee specially selected and roasted by our friends at Urbana Cafe. We partnered with Flow in Newport to brew an ultra-extracted coffee using their proprietary brewing process and machines. This process results in 50% more flavor extraction than regular espresso brewing and brings out beautiful new flavors of stone fruit, molasses, and cocoa. After 6 hours of brewing enough of this incredible coffee, we blended it into our base Dark Charge for a truly unique coffee experience.

22 ounce teal wax capped bottle, 2022 vintage, bottle #567/900. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch or so tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like coffee, molasses, vanilla, roasted malt and a bit of cinnamon. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dark chocolate, burnt/charred malt, oak and bourbon flavors. All the flavors mesh well with each other but I think the coffee stands out here. Wish the barrel had more kick but that's a very minor issue. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was pretty good, definitely worth trying if you're able to!
