500 ml bottle, no dating I noticed on it. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this brew! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head that stuck around a little while. Decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like bourbon, vanilla, roasted malt, molasses, dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some burnt/charred malt, earthiness, oak and dark bready flavors. Good amount of barrel character. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good barrel aged stout, definitely worth trying if you get the chance!

From the 500 ml bottle in a snifter. This monster bought from Liquor Barn
on Alexandria Pike in NKY pours a coal black with a nice head of brown foam
that subsides to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sport some light lacing. Nose
of rich bourbon, oak, vanilla, toffee, coffee, and deeply roasted malts. Flavors
hit their mark with dark coca fudge, char, brulee, cream, coffee, bourbon, oak,
vanilla, tobacco, and some brandy elements as well. Mouth feel is full, smooth,
rich, coating, moderately slick, and finishing with a moderately dry bitter malt note.
Overall----WOW!
Reminds me of the base for Dark Charge which is only available last I saw at the brewery
but not in growler or bottle. Nice to see it finally bottled!
Split one with your buddy!
Cheers!
