750 ml wax capped bottle, 2023 vintage. No bottling date I could find but pretty sure it was bottled in late November 2023. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with a bit of a reddish tinge when held up to the light. There's also not quite an inch light tan head that stuck around a while. Small amount of lacing. I like the aroma, pick up a lot of red grapes/wine at first, and there's also some roasted malt, vanilla and bourbon noticeable too. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also the addition of some coffee, oak and burnt/charred malt flavors. As with the aroma, I think the red grape/wine flavor stands out here. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and has a low/moderate amount of carbonation. Leans more towards wine than beer for me, I liked this one but not something I would want to drink very often either. Worth a try if you get the chance!

At the brewery.
Looks like a stout but drinks more like a wine. The thick oily mouthfeel from a stout is gone and the wine taste takes over.
Was a nice experience but it's not my thing.
