The seventh release from the collaboration series between Party Source and Braxton Barrel House brings you a classic double barrel aged imperial stout. 15 months in a Four Roses barrel precedes another nine months in a Weller Full Proof barrel. This beer is elegant and bold, only to be consumed in a room built of mahogany, layered in your grandfather's cigar smoke. From the first sip, you will enjoy steadfast chocolate, vanilla, molasses, black cherry, and toasted barrel gold. Celebrate Kentucky's rich history with a bottle of Commonwealth Companions.

500 ml bottle, no dating I could find on the bottle or label. Big thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with maybe a quarter inch tan head that fizzled away quickly. Not much lacing at all. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark chocolate, vanilla, earthiness, roasted malt and some bourbon. I think the taste has more kick compared to the aroma, it's similar tasting but there's also some dark bread, tobacco and oaky flavors noticeable too. Kinda wish the barrel character was stronger here, but that's really not a complaint at all. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit creamy with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one a lot, worth trying especially if you like bigger imperial stouts!

From the 500 ml bottle in a snifter via The Party Source. This monster
pours a pitch black with a faint fizzling head that sizzles to nothing but
has some mighty nice legs with a swirl. Nose of astringent booze, oak,
tobacco, faint vanilla, heavy bourbon, and dark malts dashed with cocoa.
Flavors expand on the nose with rich waves of bourbon, oak, vanilla, toasted
coconut nuances, light soy, dark cocoa, and warming astringent booze.
Mouth feel is full, lightly slick, coating, warming, faint to almost no carbonation,
and a medium dry finish.
Overall, a solid little imperial with the only knock being the mouth feel.
Cheers
