12 ounce can, date stamp on the bottom of the can says born on 08/28/24. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this can! Served in a chalice, the beer pours a somewhat hazy dark gold color with about an inch and a half frothy off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. The brew smells like vanilla, bready/grainy malt and some bourbon. Nice amount of barrel character. I think the taste is pretty much like the aroma but with more of a kick, and there's also some oak/woodiness noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit creamy with a good amount of soft carbonation. I thought this was pretty good, but then Braxton usually does a good job with their barrel aged beers too. Certainly worth picking up if you come across some!

Poured from a 12 oz can into a New Belgium Globe Glass

Thanks to not2quick for this one

The beer pours a slightly cloudy light golden straw color with about two fingers worth of foamy white head that recedes quickly leaving behind very little lacing.

The aroma is fantastic; grainy with notes of vanilla, bourbon barrel, and a light breadiness

The flavor is mildly bready and grainy with a perfect amount of barrel character. Somewhat creamy with hint of vanilla. Medium bodied and moderately carbonated.

Overall, this is an example of the end product being more than the sum of its parts. I typically don't like lighter beers that are aged in bourbon barrels, the barrel character typically drowns out the base beer, but that is definitely not the case here. The bourbon barrel is just strong enough to compliment the more delicate flavors of the base beer. I would love to try more offerings from this brewery

Single 12oz can from Party Source
The bourbon taste seemed a bit strong at first but really grew on me as the beer warmed up.
Enjoyed it!

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This fine ale pours a faintly chill hazed golden with a
moderate head of white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some
light lacing. Nose of bourbon, oak, vanilla, subtle cream, and light grain notes. Flavors exceed the
nose with a FINE presentation of oak, vanilla, mellow bourbon, light cream, grain notes, and
light breaded notes. Mouth feel is medium, medium light carbonation, and a lightly dry finish.

Overall, this is literally my new favorite Braxton brew. Smooth, balanced, and delicious!

A must try and one that should enter the GABF!

Cheers
