Decided to try all of this brewery's offerings this weekend. This was the worst of them.
Pours a golden yellow. Weird sudsy foam. Almost no smell. Taste is just some skunky water and a weird vegetable flavor. Thin and watery. Borderline undrinkable.

Utterly clear yellow. Nice, pillowy white head.
Has a sweet grain aroma spiked with floral hops.
Upfront, some immediate astringency. A grainy, mildly sweet flavor. Some bitterness. Unexpected fruity hop character on finish.
Any American blonde without a corn flavor is a winner in my book, and the almost delightful surprise of the fruity hops finish is nice. Still, it's not a style I particularly care for, so despite the grade here, I would not drink it again.

Went to the steelhead brewery for 2 reasons: 1) there is one in Burlingame that I remember going to with my parents when I was like 12 and 2) I thought these were the guys that make the Steelhead Double IPA that I like so much. Turns out its actually a company called Mad River that makes the double IPA I just mentioned.
This beer poured a nice color for a Blonde Ale which was a "Light golden color" according to the sampler sheet that I found laying on the bar. It had a small head to it and was crystal clear with some nice bubbling action going on. This and the nice crispness were the high points of the beer.
The smell was of cheap beer and I'm sure that theres rice or some kind of adjunct in this beer somewhere as there is little flavor aside from that of a possible coors parallel. Its because of this that it is drinkable, suitable for drinking games or just watching football. The mouthfeel as you may have guessed is very thin and watery but suitable for the style and the intended purpose of this beer.
Wouldn't turn down a free pint on tap but probably wouldn't buy a keg or a pint for that matter.

This is the perfect beer for a college town, it is as light and non-threatening a beer to please a Bud lover. There was not much in the way of flavor or body. The color is a straw/gold, very little aroma and not much in the way of flavor. Bready malt predominates.
Nice as a lawn-mower beer, but not for me.

On tap at the Irvine Steelhead. Poured an effervescent gold with a thin head that faded quickly, but left a nice lacing. Flavor is fairly clean and grainy, with very little aroma. Not a bad offering to appease the BMC crowd, but I wouldn't order it again.
