This is a coppery/red beer with a nice long lasting head. The aroma is of faint malt and hops with some toffee sweetness, and a little fruit. Not very agressive.

The flavor is not assertive or bold. There is some malt/toffee sweetness, but very little in the way of complexity or body. Hops were very subdued, and there was some fruit notes in the finish.

Since this was located in a college town, the beer fits right in as a college libation. There is enough flavor to please the non-Bud crown, but definetely is an entry-level beer.

A pleasant enough red ale, for the happy hour price of three dollars. Pours a deep red with orange edges, has a very small thin white crust.

Smell's faintly of malt, the taste is definitely on the malty side with a bit of orange-y citrus and a splash of grapefruit.

Decent enough mouthfeel. Probably the best of their brews.

Consumed 04/21/08.

Clear, coppery hue with well-laced white foam for a head.

Sweet malt greets the nose.

Sweet caramel malt flavor, some toffee character. No balancing hop flavors or bitterness until well after the beer has gone south. Then, like magic, bitterness appears sheepishly about three seconds after swallowing. Simple and not particularly memorable.

I think this is their attempt at replicating Fat Tire. Drinkable but boring.

Had this on tap at the brewery. It was a bit surprising for a red ale.

It pooured a very nice red/brown color that was very clear. There was almost no foam when I got the glass and the beer left no lacing behind. I spent a couple minutes trying to figure out what the smell was. The bartender couldn't tell me anything about the beer. I smelled and tasted honey in the beer but that was probably some honey or maybe crystal malts used in the beer. There was a medium amount of bitterness for a red ale. The after taste was a combination of bitterness and caramel. The body was light and drinkable.

Pours a dark tea color with a faint tan head that melts to small, thin lacing.
Aromas are of toasted caramel malts.
Taste is definately a very rich toasted malt that melts to light brown sugar sweetness then finally a dry citrus hoppiness.
Mouth stays dry with the light citrus hops yet a faint aftertaste of the toasted caramel stays as well.
There is an amazing balance and blending of the malts and hops here.
A wonderful amber beer.

Poured a clear amber color with a thin head, and great lacing. Aroma is light hops, with some roasted notes. Taste is completely roasted, with some nice caramel malt flavors, and enough hops to give it a nice bitter finish. One of the better offerings available when I visited.
