For me, the lack of head retention was one of the first things I noticed--very thin and far too sudsy for the style. Color is a dense, dark mahogany, couple with a thin ring of lace that quickly fades. Nice toasted malt on the nose with slight notes of roasted coffee. Flavor has a very nice dark roast coffee attribute with plenty of strong malt qualities. This one really doesn't finish all-to-dry, especially for style. This beer should really be simply labeled as an Am. stout, but highly drinkable despite the thin body.

Now listening to: Train - that some about angels... the bar has it playing

A-black or dark brown...the lighting in here sucks. The head is a dark tan
S-almost no aroma at all, but some toasted grain
T-big time coffee and burnt grain. Also, some odd creamy/metal finish
M-Good body for a brewpub stout, nice carbonation/thickness ratio.
D-did a sample of two other beers that really sucked, so I was good for two pints of this.

OMG, now they are playing Styx...I gotta go!

It poured a dark color with some red showing through. Fairly clear for a stout. There was some foam that stuck around for a while and the beer smelled decent for a stout. That is it wasn't all coffee in the nose. The taste was however mostly coffee and had a dryness to it with some bitterness. Also had a pretty light body for a stout.

Pours a dark reddish brown color, with a nice head that left a great lace on the glass. Aroma is very appealling - lots of roasted smells. Taste is very roasted as well, but the finish was a bit more bitter than I would have hoped. Mouthfeel is just a bit too thin for the style. All in all not a bad offering.
