This unfiltered Pilsner-style beer is loaded with hops from the “Garden of England”, the name given to the famed Hop Yards of Kent, and brewed with 100% English malted barley. A very easy drinking lager with a hop character that will please both Pilsner and IPA fans.
The origins of this collaboration beer started with a visit to the medieval market town of Faversham in Kent, England, home of the storied Battle of Britain. There we met the Master Brewers of Shepherd Neame, the oldest brewer in England, where art and science has been blended into award-winning, world-class beers since 1698. Together we sought to design a beer that is respectful to our brewing traditions, yet unique in its execution. The result – our first ever lager beer!

Looks like an English lager with a nice white cap. Taste is malty but with a slightly bitter finish matching it's claim to be an English lager. Very enjoyable for the style and I would recommend it.

Pleasantly surprised by how crisp and refreshing this beer was, yet it also had a mild hop presence. Nice golden color with some head and lingering lacing. Nice faint smells of malt, caramel and faint floral hoppiness. Tastes of caramel, biscuit and a nice malt backbone among with some mild floral and citrus zest hops. Just the mildest amount of hops. Mild mouthfeel and good amount of carbonation.

First skunk beer I ever bought in a brown bottle. Too bad because after I got over the skunk, I could sense a good pils. Buy it only if absolutely sure it is fresh. :/

Clear golden color with white cap and good lacing.
Aroma of bready, crackery malt with spicy floral hops.
Flavor is hop forward (brewer says Kent hops along with English malt) quickly joined by a substantial malt presence. The malt is rich but drinks dry (a plus) yet hops lead all the way into the aftertaste. A pleasing combination that ends on a slightly firm but refreshing note.
Medium texture with balancing carbonation.
As Czech Style Pils go this one falls in the firm category. Brewer says the hop character "will please both Pilsner and IPA fans" and this is substantially correct. They choose to call it a Pils but it's an IPL and as such acquits itself right well.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 12/18/2017. Pours crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light pepper/pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malts and moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. A touch fruity/yeasty, but not overwhelming. Taste of big cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, pepper, pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish. Moderate pine, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, pepper, pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a delicious Czech Pilsener style. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink; despite the increasingly bitter/drying finish. A bit more aggressive on the hops than I expected, but it's not overwhelming. All English sourced malt and hops for a collaboration with Shepherd Neame. Clean pils malt and balanced earthy hop flavors. A very enjoyable offering, and nice style example.
