Formerly called Arcadia Scotch Ale
Our tribute to the Scottish Highlands, this beer offers a gorgeous garnet color joined by the aroma of ripe plums and freshly-baked biscuits. The rich, full-bodied texture reveals notes of roasted chestnuts and caramel in the smooth single-malt style brew. Balanced with just the right amount of hop character, this beer delights with crisp alcohol finish.

Bottled 1/8/15; drank 4/4/15 @ the Yarchives.
Dark plum appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice khaki head; minimal lace.
Plum, caramel & mild banana nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Banana & sweet caramel flavors up front; dry plum & faint booze heat on the finish.
This got better as it warmed; a nice scotch ale.

Last bottle. Poured at 55 Degrees in a Imperial pint glass. Very dark, almost a porter. Tan head that dissipates after a bit. Sweet roasted malt flavor, smooth feel. You notice the 8 plus ABV, but it's not overpowering. Different than the Scotch ales that I had in Scotland, But no less enjoyable.

May have taken over as my new favorite beer. Just enough hop but not too much. Easy to drink and aromatic. Great head to help seal in flavor.

Decent beer but the overwhelming malt sweetness and slightly acidic, sour notes just didn't do it for me. Pours a honeyed brown color with just a little foamy head and very scant spotty lingering lacing. Smells mainly of malt, stone fruit, brown sugar and a little faint hops. Taste follows the nose, but the strong, sweet raisin and brown sugar notes were just a little too in the forefront. The sweetness wasn't quite cloying, but it was close. Smooth, decent mouthfeel and good carbonation. I would definitely prefer others in this beer style that have better balance.

This is one of my favorite ales to drink in the winter time and I think it deserves a higher rating on here. The flavor is reminiscent of dried fruit and maltiness and there is very little if any noticeable hop bitterness.

This is one of my favorites now. After having a couple from Arcadia I can give this one a strong recommendation when it comes to overall style at taste. Better than your average wee heavy but still not as awesome as Under the Kilt!

If you want a dark beer that's creamy, smooth, and lacking any ounce of bitterness, this is your pour. Deep brown, some cloudiness as far as I can tell. Cream head that pours thick but dissipates before too long to a cloudy film. Sweet, woody flavors. Not the strong coffee or chocolate of a porter or stout.
Biggest letdown is the smell. It's a weak, sweet, malty nose without much character. Overall a good drink, albeit rather atypical.
Re-taste: Sour, lacking body. Still well creamy, still malty, still lacking the bitterness I'd expect.
