The Man is not an oppressive governmental regime. Nor is it a hilarious odd-couple flick with Jules Winnfield and the dad from American Pie. It's not even a hit single from recording mega-star Aloe Blacc. The Man is simply the boss. It's DayMan without the coffee. It's our base IPA and a beer we plan to bastardize in every way imaginable. In it's most basic form, The Man will contrast a reliable malt bill with a rotating cast of hop characters based on whatever hops are fresh and making us particularly horny. But, whether it be a single-hop variety or a balanced blend, The Man will always deliver on its crisp, clean, bitter promise.

Nice tasting IPA which looked great but was disappointing in the muddled aromas and flavors. Pours a very nice slightly hazy yellow-orange color with lots of rocky fluffy white foam and spotty lingering lacing that lasted forever. The aromas were only faint and consisted of muddled fruity and floral hops along with lots of malt and a little breadiness. The taste basically follows the nose, and really there was overpowering malt sweetness dominating over the more faint grapefruit, orange and lemon fruit zest hops. There was also a little too much breadiness and not enough bitter hoppiness in the finish. Smooth, thin mouthfeel and good carbonation. Decent beer, just overwhelming bread and malt flavors.

12oz can, no freshness date. A very creamy beige head caps an amber colored IPA. Earthy & herbal hop aroma with some grain and bread crust, a bit musty. Hefty malt bill with notes of caramel, wet grain, and bread crust is balanced out by pungent & earthy pine and some herbal hops; i do get some mile off-flavors unfortunately. Very sticky and resinous allowing bitterness to build on the palate, full body, overly carbonated. Overall, this missed the mark for me. I would not recommend buying this one.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours lightly hazy deep golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon, orange, grapefruit, pear, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, berries, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon, orange, grapefruit, pear, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, berries, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon, orange, grapefruit, pear, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is an excellent IPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish, not aggressive. Feels like Azacca/El Dorado a lot, enormous stone fruit flavors. Extremely juicy and lightly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a nice bready malt backbone, mild residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on Midwest style IPA.

From an undated can, pours a nice copper color, huge frothy eggshell head, tons of lacing on the glass. Smell? Not so good, stale, very little hops. Taste? Not so good there either. Nice creamy texture. This was part of a "pick six", and I won't be drinking it again.

Unknown vintage; drank 2/16/18 @ the Yarchives.

See-through dark orange appearance.

A violent pour yielded a nice eggshell head; a thick curtain of lace.

Caramel, mild urine & faint sugar notes in the nose.

Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel. Urine & caramel flavors.

This looks & tastes like piss. Avoid at all costs.
