this is the best beer these guys have made, hands down, at least in my opinion. made with local kaladi brothers coffee, its an earthy rich coffee bomb with a ton of silky body and sex appeal. shiny dark dark chocolate brown in color, with a solid three quarters of an inch of creamy tan head with nice lace as it sips down. smells like the best coffee ever, with some mocha chocolate going on, and a hint of nuttiness. deep roast but not at all bitter, the balance there is just tremendous. no acidity either in it, which usually accompanies beer this heavy on the coffee. i wonder if they cold brew it and blend it in or what, but its excellently done. smooth and big in feel, with just a tickle of carbonation stirring up a slightly smokey element, and a kiss of brown sugar to finish it off with the java. i feel some caffeine in here too, which can be a nice boost, but this is one of the most drinkable beers in this category i am aware of, lower in abv and finishing on the dry side but not sacrificing what makes it an excellent base porter independent of the coffee. behind the one broken compass in breckenridge does, this is the next best beer like this made in colorado i think.
