this is the other beer they do along with the wheat that i find to be a bit on the boring side. not that its bland beer, this is actually one of the more flavorful common types ive had, they hop this thing a lot more than tradition calls for, and it makes the beer distinct, more like an american pale ale than anything else, but i just find the rest of their beer menu to be a lot more interesting and inspired. still, you have to have beers like this to appeal to all crowds, and this is a pretty solid take on the style. the burst of pine hops over that slightly sweeter grain base is not what i am used to, and gives the beer a more robust and autumnal vibe, more seasonal applicability. fuller bodied too, not as light as a lot of these are, but the residual sugar is a tad higher than i like it to be, and it seems not quite finished in terms of complete fermentation. hops are way more prominent in the nose than the flavor, but there is nice bitterness on the back end of this one. carbonation is lacking just a bit, and it doesnt warm up all that well, but its a nice interpretation and i often start my sessions here with one of these.
