Blackberry Sour

i liked this pretty well, as a berliner its great, but as a blackberry beer it leaves a little bit to be desired. i think it lags on the fruit, but thats a common mistake with this fruit, it mostly ferments out, so a dry one is a fruitless one a lot of times. the sour profile is spot on, and the carbonation is lively, so it has a lot going for it, but for me, the fruit is just a little bit too far gone. hazy and a little violet to the color, but its not pink or purple, milky and thick to some extent, and heady too for awhile before it finally settles down. as much as this thing is a little messy, its cool to see these guys not resting on their laurels and trying to do some stuff outside of the box. it makes me happy that they care enough to try for this, and then release it, even if it isnt perfect. beers like this make me feel like the future for these guys is really bright. its been up and down with them, but the spirit of experimentation is important. double the blackberry next time and cut the fermentation time down a little bit and we are spot on...
