a crisp and easy drinking pils, yet substantial enough to work into fall evenings here, i think its right on, and these guys do lagers as well as anyone around here. this isnt quite as compelling for me as their rice based lager, but its really good, very traditional, and has some nice noble type hops in the finish, fresh, grassy, bitter, and dry. golden in color and perfectly clear, not too pale, and with great carbonation collecting into an inch of white lasting head, looks exactly how i want it to. the aroma and flavor show a rather light pils malt base for the honey color of the brew, must be a drop of something a little richer in here, but i cant taste it. its less about the grain than the yeast or the hops though, bready and drying on the yeast, classic european vibe, but insanely fresh and clean and active tasting in here, while the hops are bright and bitter, familiar but also very fresh. one glass of this goes down in just a few good glugs, and i like that in a pils type. for whatever reason, these guys have the lagers dialed in. very enjoyable 3 season pils here, hopefully they keep it on for awhile!
