Tiny extension taproom for The Mitten. Bartender is nice, food truck on site. NOTE: if you are staying in the Traverse City area, there are beer buses that will take you up to this location as well as Hop Lot, saving you the hassle of driving.

Nice quaint taproom with a beer garden in scenic town of Northport. Parking is on the street. Bar tender was cool, selection were all tasty, some were fresh fruit wheat along with stouts.

This was stop #2 on a 6-day pub crawl that would take my wife and me to the Brewers Guild UP Beer Fest and back. The brewery has been open for over a year now, but this was our first visit. The pub is located among other retail businesses in the quaint downtown area of this small town. A beer garden is located adjacent to the building. The interior has a nice vibe to it, and a garage door opens to the very nice looking beer garden. There is no food menu here, but a food truck that looked like it specialized in tacos was parked behind the building on a Thursday afternoon.
We ordered two sampler flights so that we could try all of the beers that were available that day (7). There were also 3 soft drinks that are brewed here, although we did not try them. Five different beers were available in 22 oz. bottles for carry-out (none were currently on tap to help us decide on a purchase, so we asked if a taste was available, and they did have bottles open for tasting), plus they fill growlers. We felt that 4 of the beers were brewed to style, but three were either a bit weak, had an extract twang, or in the case of the Shandy, tasted like a powdered lemonade was used in excess. We felt that the only notable beer was the Metamora Cherry Saison, and it had a tiny funkiness to it, whether intended or not, but we were okay with it.
The brewery is a bit of a drive to visit, and the quality of the beers was not such that we'll go out of our way to visit again, but the pub has some good things going for it to make it an okay place to visit if you are in the neighborhood.
