Nov. 2014: 500 ml bottle, batch #060, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.6%. Ingredients include oatmeal, spruce tips, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Very dark ruby colour, nearly totally black. Moderate beige head. Dryish aroma of woodwork, dark chocolate and roast malts, hints of said spices. The flavour is astonishingly good for a Norwegian "grocery store strength" Yule beer - this is, after all, from a fairly new brewery. Fairly dry and woody, with nice roasty notes, again with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and said spices.
