An almost frightening amount of sediment in the bottle, but poured out okay. Of course, my glass came from the top of the bottle. My friend's from the second half had significantly more sediment. Quite dark for amber/red.
Some tropical fruit on the nose. A bit spicey.
Grassy, malty.

On cask at the brewery, Vancouver.
Buster Brown chestnut with parchment film. 3.75
No hops - a dry paper thing on the nose. 3.5
Dark caramel and peanut skin with some soapy tropical fruit and resin. 3.5
Vague orange leaf linger.
Medium, chewy, sharp. 3.75
Cask doesn’t suit this style. Muted; doesn’t show for the ABV or IBUs (44 on the chalkboard, 60 on the website - different recipe?) At any rate, misses whatever it was aiming for. 3.75
