L: Deep Rich Dark Copper
S: Citrus to start, complex and slight bourbon to finish
T: Complex and rich, very similar to a Belgian quad without the sweetness. Slight bitter aftertaste, Mixture of 2015 Stout and 2020 Farmhouse Ale finished in bourbon barrels.
F: A little bright on the effervescence, dies down quickly.
O: I like this a lot
From the Brewery:
"Comprising 2015 editions of our Stag & Pheasant Imperial Stout and Barley Wine aged in Old Forester bourbon barrels
for five years and blended with a 2020 Bière de Garde Farmhouse Ale, (Langley Farm Country Brewing) , this unique brew boasts notes of soft red fruit, milk chocolate and subtle spice. priming yeast was ‘Brettanomyces Brux Vrai’ a unique Berliner Weisse strain isolated from a 1987 bottle from defunct German brewery Willner Brauerei Berlin and added just prior to bottling, infusing the beer with light citrus and white-wine characteristics which allows for increased conditioning in the bottle".
Impressive to me..
