you hate to bash a new brewery just making a name for itself, but i have to talk about these beers objectively, and this beer is really poor. its supposed to be an amber, and maybe it started out as that, but this beer reeks of countless rookie home brewer mistakes, and even has a malt extract sweetness in the finish. for one, the beer is flat, for two, its highly tannic, for three, its under fermented and extremely sweet, and fourthly, it just doesnt taste good. cornmealy and sharp at times, shockingly sweet at other times, like the yeast pitch was off, way too small, contaminated, too hot, all of the above. maybe this was an accident, but i was really put off by this and couldnt finish a glass. i have yet to meet the folks involved or even check out the brewery, so i will reserve final judgement when my assessment can be more complete, but this amber ale is not a hard beer to make, and should drastically improve next batch, or these guys may not last real long.
