Tried this on on tap at Oggi's Pizza just before a Padre's game, and quite the find, highly enjoyable, dark brownish with a tinge of red, creamy bubbly off white head that stuck around long enough to enjoy the appearance and left some nice lacy sticking to the glass.Smelled of rich malts, mollases a hint of chocolate and mild spices, very nice aroma, taste was a tad sweet with the mollases and a bit of chocolate coming thru, some mild spices in there good splash of malts, going down in a nice medium mouthfeel to it,a little bitterness at the very end, would have this one again,no problem there, highly recommended for anyone to try.

A Scottish by any other name. Pours a darker shade of amber with red hues throughout. Served ice cold with next to no head. No really lacing to speak of.

After warming it the best I could there was a subtle malt aroma. Mostly generic malt but limited caramel hop aroma. No really yeast characteristic at all.

The taste was limited as well. More generic flavor with a touch of caramel in the backing. No really distinction for yeast as well. I don't know if I would have know it was a Scottish ale without them telling me. Some what dry finish not good.

The body was light. This is one of those beers that you say there isn't much to it, but also there isn't anything wrong with it either. Just bland.

A- a thin, milky 1/4" off white head sat on top of a very pretty deep mahogany brew with bright ruby red hues

S- molasses, burnt sugar, faint fruit

T- strong molasses flavor balances malts. Caramel, bittersweet toffee, toasted malts, flavor comes out nicely as brew warms

M- light/medium body, smooth 'til finish where carbonation packs up and leaves a spicy tingle

D- drinkable over a long period of time (sessionable as well at 5%, but i'm speaking of the beer still being tasty while warmer), decent complexity, surprisingly tasty, one of Oggi's best offerings.
