Sisyphus Imperial Brown Ale. 67 IBU. 7.7% ABV.
Clear, dark chestnut brown coloring, rich, creamy, off-white head. Looks beautiful.
Aromatics: nutty, malty, a little sweet. All the nuts are here, and they're having a party. Some cocoa rises up. Mmmm.
In the mouth: Delicious. Some bitterness up front, but this is mainly malt driven, with a good dose of cocoa and a helping of nuttiness. Bitterness keeps up with malt sweetness. Medium-bodied, not too thick and not too dense. Just deliciousness. So tasty. Ever so tasty.
One of my favorite Sisyphus brews so far. And I like a lot of 'em.

pretty decent effort here, but its real sweet, even for the style, i think they could scale back the grain a little or else let it ferment down a little drier, a whole one of these is a lot because of that, but the flavors they have developed in it are very nice. its chocolate forward, lighter in appearance than a lot of these, especially the stronger ones, and seemingly built upon a relatively simple grain base of pale barley and chocolate malt. there are great cocoa aromas and flavors here, warming with the alcohol. i get a medium toast, even a note of coconut and molasses before the finish, which is brown sugary and long. it lacks body for me, if this were fuller and fluffier, i wouldnt hardly mind the sugar so much, but it ends up being super sweet as a result of the thinness for me, really the only weakness here. i like that they havent gone too dark with it, and i like some of the subtle notes from the grain, i could see this one working really well on the same maple wood they age the stout on, hopefully they try that!

Had on tap at Sysyphus. L: Pours bright brown under a ½” off white foam collar. S: Some roast, caramel chocolate on the nose. T: Big chocolate up front with some caramel – the chocolate is so big that it is hard to believe that it is not added but it is still very nice. Fruit is subdued, mostly grain flavors behind the chocolate. F: Medium full body and medium carbonation. O: A very flavorful brown ale.
