WEST COAST PALE ALE
This west coast pale ale was inspired by my “house pale ale” from back in my homebrewing days. It changed slightly every time it was brewed but it always included a selection of quintessential west coast hops. It was almost always on tap in the garage kegerator where friends and neighbours would stop by for a pint and a chat.
We start with a base of Canadian pilsner malt for crisp honey notes and English Maris Otter for a little fuller biscuity notes. Add a pinch of light crystal malts and you’ve got a solid backbone ready for the hops. Amarillo is the star of the dry hop in this beer. This legendary hop (first released in 2000) might not have the same hype it once did but the classics are classics for a reason. We then round it out with Citra and local Cashmere from the Fraser Valley.
Fermented with our house ale strain. Aromatic notes of bright orange peel and underripe peach at the forefront along with an insinuation of walking through a coniferous forest. Balanced by a crisp yet biscuity malt character with a light honey sweetness.

A well balanced pale ale, the Amarillo , Citra & Cashmere hops work very well with this one.
Smooth with a nice hop finish.
