Appearance - From the howler, the beer poured a rich gold color with a white head.
Smell - There are light spruce hints in the nose.
Taste - The beer is grassy at first before a minor spruce explosion. It is not overly bitter, but definitely piney. I would have liked more pine/spruce bitterness. Dry pine lingers lightly in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Thebeer is carbed for a smooth mouthfeel that allows the pine to linger.
Overall - Short's Spruce Pilsner, it is not. It is still tasty.
