Traditional festbier lager brewed using small farm single-origin Bavarian-grown 2-row barley that was malted locally in Durham. It is a bit lighter bodied than most Märzen-style beers, which are typically malty German amber lagers with clean, rich, toasty and bready malt flavor, restrained bitterness, and a dry finish. But, it is a bit richer and higher ABV than a prototypical Festbier, which is typically less intense and less richly toasted than a Märzen.
