Our 14 month sour stout blended with a younger sour for a bright and robust profile, finished with Door County Montmorency cherry.

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. Batch 7.
Dark brown colored body, with very faint red highlights when presented to light. Half a finger fizzy, light tan head quickly dissipates to bubble fed ring.
Aroma of tart cherries. Slightly woody. Sour stout underneath it all.
Taste is sour cherry, with the backbone of the sour stout (dark roasted malt and hint of chocolate). Overall is similar to a dark red wine, but with stout and cherry aspects. Rather dry and ascetic.
Medium mouth feel, rather puckering. Higher level of carbonation.
A very well done blend, along with the cherry finish. Has a balance of the sour stout, reinvigorated with the fresher sour, and then the tart cherry is introduced as a final addition. All aromas and flavors work together for good effect, but this combination is rarely encountered. Not as complex as a Belgian blend, but still quite a treat. Must be a fan of the sour and the tart in order to enjoy.
