On tap at brewpub:
Creamy mocha head sits atop this oil-black body. Lacing is random - sheets in some sections, void in others.
Nose is chocolate coffee, straightforward and bold. Maybe a hint of marshmallow in some sniffs.
Taste again brings the coffee, but it's more of a coffee with cream and sugar. Some sips I get cocoa with marshmallow up front, but the end comes with bitterness belonging to coffee.
Feel could be a little smoother, as the carbonation adds a tingle that is ever so slightly distracting.
This is basically what it promises, though with a little extra sweetness.

12 oz pour on tap into can glass
A: Completely black in body, pour was so full left no room for head. Body is dense and no light escapes it.
S: Huge coffee, light chocolate, burnt malts, lots of breadiness.
T: Coffee almost assaults you on the front then you get hints of the beer underneath, some nice chocolate, roasted nuts, lots of deep breadiness.
M: Medium to a little thin but it does purport to be a porter medium carbonation.
O: This is a good coffee porter its not very nuanced or layered in its flavor approach, but if you love coffee beers it has that in spades. There almost seems to be a pretty good porter underneath as well.

Wow. Tons of fresh ground coffee in the nose. Taste is smooth dark coffee with hazelnut creamer. It's a bit on the sweet side, so my only "complaint" would be a noticeable lack of balancing bitterness. That being said, it's fantastic and an ideal after dinner sipper. Couldn't leave without filling a growler of this.

Dark as night with a tan head. Big notes of chocolate (milk and bittersweet), coffee, nuts, and roast in the aroma. Nice milk chocolate and hazelnut in the flavor with roast and coffee on the finish. Medium-full bodied with lasting lacing.

Very nice porter. I thought the coffee flavors may be a little too dominant, but it balances out more and more as it warms, and the roasted coffee itself is good quality. Not much bitterness. Good chocolate balance. Would like to see the malt base shine through a little more, but it was one of the 2 best I had here.
