12 oz can. Pours hazy golden copper with a medium creamy off white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet caramel malts and sugary tropical fruit.
The flavor is sweet caramel and toffee malt with some fig and citrus and a big piney resiny hop finish with a little roast. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a very nice big hoppy red, very barley wine-ish.

i just love how many beers these guys are canning and getting out into the market. they have done a really nice job, and are near the top of the new brewery heap, certainly for the ones that package. this is a big hoppy red, balanced boldness is how i can best describe it, pine and oily hops meet sweet and earthy red malt, its a robust fusion to say the least, but a remarkably smooth and easy drinking beer for what it is, especially in a style that doesnt often move me. this has a lot going for it, well hoppy but not real bitter, and despite the sweetness of the grain, those rich caramels and buttery goodness, its relatively dry in the finish, they have been patient with the fermentation, and it shows. that last little bit goes a long way in a style like this, and they have it dialed. only medium body, it never seems too heavy, and it hides its alcohol strength quite well. every time i see a new beer from these folks i pick it up, they are on a serious roll. hoppy enough for an ipa fan, but a lot more than that going on here. really well done again.
