Traditional Marzen-style lager is crisp and clean, with a malty backbone that signifies that changing seasons. This year we used a decoction mash, resulting in a fuller flavor.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange red with a small fluffy white head. Smells of caramelized grain. Tastes of caramelized grain and fresh fruit. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

12 oz can
Pours light amber and with a light haze, medium tan cap, leaving a fine bubble film and ringed sheeting.
Light n sweet sniff with bready malts and vanilla.
Pleasing, malty brew, with more sweat bread infused qualities, also notes of flowery vanilla and honey ......tasty OFest brew that is well worth trying....real good kinda beer to go along with all sorts of foods.

A: Amber in color with a relatively long lasting off white head. Noticeable carbonation.
S: malty and sweet. Slight crusty bread.
T: malt forward, bready, slight bitterness (basically enough to keep it balanced). Finishes dry and clean.
M: medium body.
O: one of the best American made oktoberfest biers I've had.

LOOK >>> Dense foam - 2 finger head - low retention - light gold in color - foam ring stays around but is minimal - quite hazy for a Marzen
SMELL>>> Slight caramel, brown sugar, bread, yeast, hint of vinegar
TASTE >>> Slight herbal hop notes - tart at first - some caramel and slightly toasted wood - some sweetness comes in with a slight nuttiness and then fades - quite flavorful
FEEL >>> Medium bodied - slick and oily - pretty much where it needs to be
OVERALL >>> Really good version of a marzen here - Had many I didn't care for and would not buy again, but would make this purchase again

Average pour into tulip developed a 1 finger off white head that settled quickly with no lace. Color is a striking deep translucent amber reminding me of a dark harvest moon.
Sweet fruity caramel malt hits the nose with a bit of yeast and a whiff of banana, with not much else.
Creamy caramel sweet malt on the palate with a smooth faint banana note and a lightly dry finish. The subtle hops are without pine or citrus character.
Body is light, refreshing , super light carbonation and not cloying in the least. Beautiful balance on the slightly dry finish.
This is a wonderful surprise for me. I have not knowingly had this style before and this example seems excellent. A well balanced beer as I could imagine. Must put this on the fall rotation.
EDIT: version Sep. 2021- Not as fruity with more caramel, less malty grain and less sweetness. Also seems a bit more bitter. Overall a 3.75.

On tap. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of roasted malt, caramel and some sweetness. Caramel and toffee taste with some roasty notes and a mild bitterness.

This is a pretty good Oktoberfest, and I'm picky about my Oktoberfests. It's pretty biscuity and malty, as it should be, with just a hint of bitter hops. Maybe looks a bit lighter in color than most, but doesn't lack flavor as a result. I don't mind the ABV, which is in the range of most beers this style, though obviously you're not going to session a bunch of these. One or two will do just fine.

L - Looks like a Marzen - good lacing, maybe a tad rich on ABV but it is a Murkhan interpretation
S - Heavenly malt biscuit - a little sour-sweet on the nose, interesting
T - This is where this Marzen/Okto fest stands out - layers of malt, bread, and spice complexity (not actual spice, the impression of it). Really solid and full palate taste, start to finish.
F - Feel is very good, a little underwhelmed compared to taste, but nicely carbed and not overly so.
O -another winner from 4 Noses. Well done.
