Dark, golden orange body; thick, sticky head; globs of foam adhering to the glass. Strong fruity aroma; orange and peach. Mild grain sweetness with notes of orange; well-balanced bitterness develops midway through and lingers at the finish. Medium-heavy body; soft; gentle warmth; starts mildly sweet and retains a mild sweetness while a dryness lingers at the finish.

Surprisingly subtleties coming from such a strong beer. There is depth and complexity here with the flavors and aromas really standing out with the alcohol pretty well hidden and all delivered with an almost airy body. It all spells out a well-made, very tasty strong ale. Well worth checking out...

thanks to Karsten for sharing this with my brother and me, poured chilled from the can in a goblet.

The color is a medium amber with thick cream colored head with fine bead and spots of lace stick. The smell is fragrant of hops with a nice pine-like scent and perhaps a slight grapefruit note. The feel is very good moderately high bitterness with subtle malt toast and moderate carbonation with mostly dry biter finish.

The taste is very hop focused with some pine as hinted at in the aroma but a fruity accent in there with lightly bitter citrus and subtle malt backing adding a nice backdrop to the earthy hop flavor with mild alcohol in the dry finish. Overall I like this a very good IPA even if they call it an American Strong ale, perhaps the IPA they brew is not as malt balanced but this has plenty of hop flavor and bitterness
