Utilizing a refined Mosaic product, we gain access to taste all of the intricate hop flavors interwoven into this simple yet sturdy grain bill. The Mosaic aroma is massive, which allows the lucky drinker to sample with your nose before it even hits your palate. It can almost trick you into thinking that you have something hoppy in your cup, yet carries a very easy drinkability to it. Most of the hops were added after flame out as to not add too much bitterness but add nice touches of papaya and tangerine flavors.

With low bitterness, low alcohol and lower price, this a day drinker and night drinker alike. Mountain Wave showcases the delicacy of the Mosaic hops wonderfully without throwing flavor away. Balanced and Easy, and perfect for your next adventure.

Smooth and balanced. Easy drinking for those who want simple hops. Not BITTER - thankfully :-)

Great APA to drink in Summer or Winter. Good Pale Ales are hard to find. This is a great beer from a great brewery.

Enjoy!

This is a solid APA from this brewery, and it's not a complicated style but sometimes it gets overdone. Not this one - this is just simple hops and malt. The late hop addition means that you don't get overwhelmed by any particular flavor, which makes for a nicely balanced beer. Good work here.

To echo someone's review from last September, people's issues with this beer seemed to stem from a bad batch. In its current incarnation its everything you'd want from a session APA, bright hops and complex almost rye-tasting malts, especially as it warms up

The chicken, onion, cat, grass aromas seem to be a thing of the past — bad batch?? — now has the classic Mosaic aroma and taste tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) and some minerality

This beer is disgusting. It smells like chicken and has no texture. I typically enjoy 4 Noses but this is baaaaad.

A single 12 oz can purchased from the Beer Cellar in St. Louis MO to fill out my singles selection from my trip.
This was canned on 8/18/20 which was an obvious oversight, or else it was just so cheap I didn't care.
BIBCO Teku.

Pours a foggy, hazy blonde with a creamy cap of 2 fingers that leaves lots of lace and recedes to 1/2 finger.

Aroma is of chive, mineral, blueberry, pineapple, and various stone fruit.

Flavor is heavier on the chive than I'd like, but is actually quite bright, clean, and fruity. Some elements of pineapple and tangerine, with a good deal of sweet malt grist. Calling it a Mosaic ale may be a good moniker as it's closer to a mild pale ale than anything.

Feel is crisp, clean, and juicy. Some resins politely clinging to the palate on the finish. No perceivable alcohol.

Overall, a delicious and fantastic session ale that drinks like it should and has a great fruit presence. The fading is not as bad as I'd thought it'd be and is insanely enjoyable. I'd be silly not to finish it. I cracked it with trepidation due to its canned on date and due to a few reviews here, but I actually very much enjoy it. Turns out if an area has good competition and motivation to brew decent beer, I'm not that hard to please even with "average" rated beers. This is cleaner and juicier than anything I can get at home. We just suck in my state. Someone move here, figure out the water profile, and make good beer please! *hugs*

Price paid : $1.50 / can or something like that
Would buy again : For sure

Initial impression of a 12 fl oz can:

C / AVERAGE

***
06/05/20 can (12 fl oz pull-tab canned 05/21/20):

5% ABV. "American Mosaic Ale."

A: Dull murky yellow body. Needs filtration and clarity...it's not much to look at. ~4cm in height head white in colour with a fluffy texture. Head takes ~6 minutes to recede.

Sm: Seems off...like in a basic QC failure sort of way. Oniony, catty, grassy...this hop profile seems dreadful. Mosaic's primary flavour (subtle blueberry) and secondary vague tropical fruit flavour are both absent, rendering this a beer that at least in terms of the aroma fails to showcase Mosaic hops.

Suggests an off brew that oughtn't to have made it to shelves. Not boozy or overtly off-flavour dominant, but certainly problematic.

TASTE: Catty and oniony with no trace of Mosaic hops in sight. Plain 2-row gives this all of its dull malt backbone. Some murky grassiness, very subdued sourness...I don't imagine it's infected, but there's something very clearly wrong with it on a fundamental level.

TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, tart, unrefreshing, well carbonated, medium-bodied. Not boozy, harsh, gushed, hot, scratchy, or irritating.

OVERALL: Its hop profile is pretty poor and it misses the mark in terms of Mosaic hop flavour. Probably the worst Colorado-brewed pale ale I've had this year, but it's not undrinkable.

Pale, semi hazy. Light citrusy nose. Nice Mosaic solo here, especially on the finish.

I would not be so bold as to call this an IPA. I really enjoy it but it is soooooper light in hops. Even more than any “session” IPA that I would give that title to.

On tap. Poured a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of orange peel, grapefruit and caramel. Sweet citrusy taste with a toasted caramel backbone.

only 5% and 30 IBUs. A few can be enjoyed anytime, brewed with Mosaic hops, this is an easy to drink brew that seems very balanced.
