Soft, pale yellow body, semi-cloudy; thick and creamy white head. Aroma is of old, over-ripe fruit and decaying leaves; a bare touch of citrus. Bright citrus punch to the flavor; tart; subliminal light cereal grain backbone; dull grapefruit rind. Medium body; coarse and prickly on the palate; spiky dryness overall.
I'm really not familiar with Kviek yeast, but I have a strange feeling it adds some of the unique, almost barnyard-like quality to this beer, especially with the smell. It's not a saison or wild ale kind of funk, but it certainly is strong and (personally) difficult to find appealing. Otherwise, this is a fair enough pale ale, a bit rough around the edges yet certainly approachable.
