Kveik yeast fermented Pilsner-Inspired Ale.
A collaboration with Inland Island Yeast Laboratories. This experimental brew was inspired by Pilsners, but instead of using Lager yeast, we fermented it with a traditional Norwegian Kveik yeast. This Kveik strain ferments hot and fast, while still giving the clean, subtle flavors you would expect from a Lager. We dry-hopped with the new Contessa experimental hop that lends green tea, floral, and pear notes. This beer delivers crisp, clean, and unique floral & herbal qualities.
The name Norwegian Yeast Scream was inspired by a Norwegian brewing tradition called “Gjaerkauk” or yeast scream, the practice of yelling into the kettle as the yeast is pitched to scare off malevolent spirits.

Fine, pale gold colored body; lovely, fine carbonation; thick and rocky white head; creamy. Light cereal grain nose with a deft touch of light, bright sweetness; faint herbal tones. Excellently balanced flavors; light malt backbone with a pleasantly balanced, light toned hop bitterness. Medium body; soft and delicate on the palate; pleasantly nuanced sweetness to the mouthfeel.
What a pleasing and enjoyable pilsner. I've had a few kveik yeast-based lagers of late and this one is one of the best. The can label calls it a "kveik fermented pilsner inspired ale". To me, this is a light and tasty lager all the way. Regardless, it's a beauty to behold and a joy to drink.

I wasn't really sure what style option to pick when adding this one at all, its pilsner inspired but they use the Norwegian yeast instead so they're calling it a pilsner inspired ale and not a pilsner, was crisp and easy drinking, a little funky cuz of the yeast but overall a crisp refreshing beer.
