i like the idea better than the beer itself. a less roasty lower alcohol lighter bodied stout for summer drinking. makes perfect sense, but the beer is a little weird. it seems to be missing the bitterness of roasted barley, and as such, never really finishes. the yeast is also a little odd, maybe fermented warmer than desirable? it almost has a belgian vibe to it. smells pretty dank though, almost like skunky weed, and it has some of that in the taste, along with dark chocolate, blueberry, and day old coffee. i kind of like the way it all comes together, and certainly appreciate it for being different, but one of these was plenty, despite the session mission of the beer. carbonation could be ramped up just a tad, but other than that, the mouthfeel was real nice on this.
