These are fantastic sours (tried both the cherry and raspberry). In a corner of the industry where I feel like many new brewers have been rushing their sours into the market, this one smells and tastes like a beer that's been given proper time to mature.
Pours with a true nut-brown haze, thin lace, silky mouthfeel, scent reminds me of autumn leaves and leather, sip delivers upfront fruit that mellows into strong but not overpouring tartness.
If you find this don't think twice about swiping it up, because when words gets out this is gonna be hard to find.

this is amazing beer, part of a series they did of these barrel aged sour browns with different fruits. some of the first bottled beer i have seen from these guys in the market, and absolutely awesome stuff, even though they are extremely expensive (14 bucks for a small bottle), but you get what you pay for without a doubt. the base sour brown is outstanding, woody and tart without being overly acidic and avoiding that vinegar sour profile a lot of the european oud bruin types tend to have. notes of lemon with the chocolate malt, rich but drinkable, really pretty nuanced even before the fruit, but the fresh raspberries here really pop this off. tart and jammy sweet alike in the nose, with more of the tart aspects being amplified in the flavor, super fresh, tons of fruit. the fruit is even out in front of the sourness which is really uncommon in beer like this, but then again, there really arent any other beers like this, its kind of its own thing. some sweetness is nice in here with the cocoa notes from the malt, but i like the juicy tang of the berries a lot, the flavor could not possibly be more robust or authentic. the sour brown is a cool base beer for this fruit (and indeed in the cranberry edition as well), definitely offers a different launch pad for the fruit, and its incredibly successful. there are really two factors at work with the fruit, one is with the chocolate notes, like dessert, the other is with the sour, like raspberry lemonade or something, they somehow go together so well. overall i was majorly impressed with this, and the cranberry was equally awesome. great to see these local favorites get some bottles out into the market that are this amazing. congrats to them, these beers rule!
