V-Goldspot was mellow when I visited on a rainy Sunday afternoon; just a few people couples quietly chatting and one group of four guys. It was a refreshing change from the typical brewery crowds. Decor is the now-standard mix of brick, raw steel, and wood with a slight industrial flavor and an overhead door up front. The pseudo industrial feel works here and the small space feels comfortable and appropriate for the neighborhood near Regis college in Northwest Denver. The brewing equipment is mostly hidden behind the 12-seat bar and one large community table sits up front.

Q-I tried two Belgian-style beers, a blonde and a tripel. The blonde was merely OK and the tripel was slightly better than average, but not worth searching out. Both beers were clean and easy to drink, but not terribly complex.

Ser-The lone bartender was friendly and prompt. Beers were served in appropriate glassware.

Sel-All beers on offer were brewed by Goldspot. I counted about 10 different beers of varying styles from BA stout to Belgian Blonde to kolsch to IPA. Variety is good and it was nice to go to a brewery and not have to choose between six different varieties of IPA.

O-I liked the vibe and the variety of beers on tap. The two beers I tried were merely OK, but Belgian styles are tough to get right and they weren't bad...just not great. This is not a place to travel for, but I would go back to try a few more if I were looking for a low-key hangout.

this place is far better than its ratings on here, but there is really no other way to judge it. its just that its scores in these departments did not overly impress, but i liked the overall here quite a bit, and will be back to see how they progress. its a smallish place, a long time coming, and in a neighborhood that arguable isnt already saturated with breweries, they should do well with the university right there. cool angular sort of interior, some high tops and some picnic tables, can seat maybe 50 tops, a few more seats at the bar. i think they had about eight beers on, with the breakfast porter being by far and away the best beer the make. cocoa nibs and coffee, its wonderful. the others were less impressive. a belgian wheat was nice, and the ipa was drinkable, but the red was suspect. service was unremarkable, filled our order and checked on us once, but wasnt overly chatty or welcoming, not great not bad. cool with the food truck right outside, that always helps, and i had a really good time hanging out here. i think the beer quality will probably come, and i think the newness of the operation, which is the only way i can really describe it, will likely evolve into a well oiled group. overall a place worth checking out (i think they all are really), but better than average for such a new operation. breakfast porter all the way!
